Third Grade

Third grade is a very important time in a child’s education, because it is when students transition from what are often known as “lower elementary” to “upper elementary”. It is a crucial period in a student's learning as they become more independent and mature learners. Third graders are required to read a variety of texts including, fiction, non-fiction, fables, and poetry, and must understand and be able to talk about their main ideas and lessons. Third grade Language Arts curriculums focus on learning early American history and cultural celebrations. Diverse history all cultures IS American History. The classroom core literature books must reflect this. You enhance the reading experience of young readers by reflecting back the world and increasing their understanding of themselves and others.
